Best Practices in the Classroom: A Note to Math Bridge Volunteers

Here are a few ideas and suggestions for your next visit:


• Contact your group and meet with them beforehand to prepare a presentation.
• Contact the teacher in the class to discuss appropriate topics and determine math ability of the classroom.
• Check in at the Principal's office after arriving at the school.
• Have the teacher give the kids nametags so that you may speak directly to them.
• After introducing yourself, make your presentation (approx. 10 minutes in length).
